- Who can join the team?
All students, faculty, and staff can join the team.
- Do I need any rowing
experience to join the team?
No you do not. Many people new to rowing join NDSU Rowing.
- I’m not in very good
shape, can I still try?
Yes you can. We do not have any requirements based on skill or
fitness level (as long as you are healthy enough).
Remember that rowing is a great way to get into shape, it is a whole body
workout!
- Where does the team
practice?
NDSU Rowing practices in various locations. We take out
smaller boats on the Red River and our larger boats to
nearby lakes. We practice indoors on rowing machines in the Wellness
Center. For our rowing
locations please click on the locations link on the side.
- When do you practice?
Practice times for Fall Semester have not been set yet. We
practice at times most convenient for the majority of members. We will
often hold multiple practices during the week and weekend at various times.
- How much does it cost?
Membership is $5 per school year.
- Are there seasons in
rowing?
Yes, our seasons are divided into Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.
During the late Fall, Winter, and early Spring, practice is typically indoors;
due to frozen water.
Outdoor practice and competition occurs in the Spring, Summer and Fall.
- How do members stay in
contact with each other, who do I practice with on the rowing machines?
To help keep all of our members in contact with each other we have setup
a message board. Only those that are members of the club can view and
post on the message board.
- Sounds sweet! How
can I join?
Please contact our President, Brian Fier. You may reach him
via email at ndsu_rowing@ndbison.com
